Couple to Change the Status Quo in Automotive Repair: Closes Weekends
Balances lifestyle with employee morale, while serving clientele

8/27/15 (Houston, Texas) – Cliff’s Car Tech (automotive repair) is located in North West Harris Country in the thriving Cy-fair School District area. Cliff and Teri Smith, a husband and wife team, have served over 30,000 repair orders since they first opened their own business in 2007. Cliff, an ASE Certified Master Technician also serves on the automotive tech board for the area school district advising on the instruction for the next generation of auto technicians.

“We decided to close on the weekends after careful consideration,” said Cliff “I want to put our people before profit and ensure a quality of life for these hard working professionals with families of their own. It is a tough decision and I am hoping the market will understand and support.”

“The trend still seems to be holding that most Americans are keeping their vehicles in excess of 10 years,” said Teri who monitors the front counter and back office while her spouse focuses on managing their team of four skilled technicians. “Most of our clients are families and people who are really mindful of the need to plan their repairs and stay ahead of maintenance needs.”

The business started to alert their current clientele of the change 90 days ahead of the effective date of September. They also posted a sign on their outdoor message billboard to alert the community at large. The company provides an industry leading three-year warranty on parts and labor, shuttle service (5-mile radius), and discounted rentals at Enterprise to minimize the inconvenience repairs often take on people.

“So, far the feedback has been very supportive. We understand that others may not follow our lead now, but we believe for the smaller family oriented shops, you may see it in the future. We decided to take the step now” says Teri.

The new hours of operation begin August 31st, from 7:30AM to 6:00PM, Monday through Friday.
